For me latest Author Spotlight, I’m joined by the lovely TL Travis. We talked about being a total pantser, taking inspiration from everywhere, and her love of concerts.

First things first, please introduce yourself!
Hello, I’m TL Travis and I write MM/MMM/Sapphic romance and erotica.

Tell us a little bit about your writing style.
I am a complete and total pansters. I have a general idea of the genre and names, then comes the cover, then comes the story. I never know where the characters will take me when I dive in.

Describe your books in only three words.
Eclectic by ADHD.

What’s your next book about and when is it coming out?
My next book is Ahoy, Daddy! Which is part of the Pride Cruise 2024 series which release throughout the month of June.

Out of all your books, which one are you most proud of?
See Me. That one hits a lot of “real” issues.

What or who (or both) has influenced you most as a writer?
Influences are everywhere and it’s hard to choose just one because I never know what’s going to trigger a story until it hits.

What inspired you to start writing?
Haha, an argument with my ex.

What’s your writing process like? Do you have a typical “writing day”?
I do not. I wish I did but my day is filled with nothing but squirrels.

What comes first for you – the plot or the characters?
I can’t plot. The title really comes first as it ties to the genre. Then I have to have the cover.

What’s a book that you wish you’d written?
Harry Potter – for a million reasons. The books are fantastic, there’s no denying it but the transphobic author has killed it for many which is unfortunate.

If you could only write one trope for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Daddies and their littles. I love playing with my littles and have so much fun with them.

What would be your three desert island books?
Likely the ones of Anne Rice’s I own but have yet to read – Prince Lestat and the Realms of the Atlantis, the Mayfair Witches, and Blackwood Farm.

If one of your books could be made into a movie/TV series, which would you choose and who would you cast?
That’s hard to choose. Some you envision as Netflix type series while others as movies. If I had to choose I’d say The Database for Netflix – each of her encounters could be an episode. Social Sinners for a movie.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing? Do you have a secret passion or hobby that we don’t know about?
I attend as many concerts as I can. There’s a reason I write so many Rockstar 😉

Finally, what’s your favourite dinosaur?
Velociraptor.
