Guess who learnt how to properly apply make-up today! 💄💖

I escaped from my writing cave today to do something that I've wanted to do for years: learn to do my make-up.

As a millennial I've lived through many make-up eras and mostly tried to figure shit out from YouTube, blogs, and guess work, but never actually been taught what to do and how.

And since I spend most of my days looking like a feral gremlin, I really wanted to learn how to apply make-up properly, what products I should use for my skin, and how to make it stay through a full event day so I can live out my fabulous femme dreams! 💋 (I mean people talk about contour but what actually is it??)

Enter the incredible @msmoo_makeup who spent the afternoon teaching me techniques, showing me where and how to put things, and making the whole process super fun and easy! I had the best time ever! 💖🫶

It's always fun to learn new things, especially if they give you confidence and make you feel fabulous (and I absolutely do) 💕

It's time to meet the next set of Lick It! men ready to get their happily ever after in Dripped! So, here are a few things about our gorgeous MCs, Darcy and Owen 💜🍦

💜 Owen is the summer hire at Lick It!, and he's only meant to be back in Heather Bay for a few months. He loves swimming & surfing, cooking, travelling, getting tattoos, and seeing Darcy in his running shorts.

He's very relaxed, sings along to Dolly Parton in the kitchen, doesn't do relationships, and really wants to help Darcy learn to de-stress. He's happy to take charge and help his beautiful Angel let go.

They'll figure out this communication thing later...

🩷 Darcy is the brains behind Lick It! and it's primary chef. But seeing his dream come true is a lot more stress than he'd imagined, and his blood pressure is starting to spiral. Relaxation doesn't exist in his vocabulary either, although he has tried to take up running. Which means he gets to see Owen swimming every morning...

He's vocal, desperate, and very happy to let Owen help him let go for once.

And they'll take about what they're doing at some point... right?

Happy Pride! 🏳‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Since it's Pride, I thought I'd my annual little (re)introduction of myself! So hey, I'm Charlie (she/they) and I'm a British author of low angst contemporary MM/LGBTQ+ romance set in the UK.

My books are funny, fluffy and sexy as fuck and they feature queer disasters falling in love. They're often pretty nerdy, and full of food (and will probably make you hungry). And they're low angst because the world is very rubbish and I need to believe in the power of love and friendship. Plus I believe queer HEAs can be soft, sweet, and easy to find too.

I'm a nerdy, bisexual disaster who owns a lot of dice, stationary, and beautiful books (because you can't have too many of any of them). I've got a growing collection of tattoos, glasses, ADHD, anxiety, hypermobility, and two very cheeky dogs, Biscuit and Pippin. I also have a very patient, nerdy husband who paints pretty minis of my D&D characters & brings me snacks!

I'm a huge fan of Formula 1 and rugby union, a horse girl at heart, have a massive sweet tooth, have a very wide taste in music (I listen to a lot of techno when I write), play a LOT of Dungeons & Dragons and obsess over my characters, have lost count of how many dice I have, love getting my nails done, adore drag, love commissioning art, do heel dance for fun, and love all things kitsch and colourful.

I'm a demi-girl who uses she/they pronouns 😊 If you've read The Tighthead, then Ryan's description of their gender is very much how I view mine: it was something I was given and socialised in, but it's not something I'm particularly attached to. I'm girl-lite, girl but to the left, girl but also not (so please don't include me in lists of women writers)!

I'm also pretty femme - I love pretty dresses, sparkly make-up, extra nails, and big earrings and huge, ridiculous shoes. To me, being femme and being a woman, aren't mutually exclusive. Also I freaking love a vintage suit!
