Last year I read Snow Way in Hell, a delightful brother’s best friend novella, and I was over the moon when I saw Charlie Novak was bringing us the brother’s own romance in Up to Snow Good! Max is such a good soul, even if he’s not always the most self-aware and his best intentions go astray. And Luca… well, Luca is a sexy Italian chocolatier who speaks several languages. Need I say more?

Max is kind of the third wheel on a ski trip to France and throws himself into planning the perfect anniversary for his travel companions, Tarquin (bro) and George (bff). He finds a busy chocolaterie, and when he makes a bit of a fool of himself, he decides to redeem himself by offering his help. The chocolatier, Luca, is hesitant to hire the rich jerk, but is quickly charmed and smitten. The two have electric chemistry that goes beyond the physical.

This story is kind of insta-love, but I actually really love the holiday premise of falling in love in week. Is it hyper realistic? Probably not. Do I care? Absolutely not. I did like that Charlie Novak has her characters talk about the quick timeframe, and it’s very clear from the beginning that Max is unhappy at work and feeling a bit lost now that his 2 people are romantically involved with each other. It sets him up to be charmed by Chamonix and Luca in equal measure. And honestly, I would also drop everything for Luca. That man is sexy af 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Gentle dominance and a praise kink? Yes please.

It's been a busy week here because not only did I

It's been a busy week here because not only did I have a release but Pippin had castration surgery.

He's recovering very well and has already discovered he can use the cone as a battering ram. My poor ankles and calves are already suffering.

My current challenge is trying to keep him calm since he feels fine and doesn't understand why he's only allowed very short walks. It's like dealing with a hyperactive duracell bunny 😂

Only a another week and he can hopefully return to running around like a banana.
